Pentland Stud has been breeding quality Shetland ponies for over 60 years. Established in 1952 by Mrs Betty Myers the stud is now proudly run by Betty's granddaughter Mrs Michelle Sutherland.

Located just outside of Ballarat Victoria the stud's once great numbers of 100+ Shetland ponies managed on over 200 acres across three properties has been reduced to 35 Mares and 5 Stallions managed on one of the original properties in Pootilla Victoria.

Pentland stud endeavours to produce ponies which are useful and of good temperament, in a wide range of colours and sizes. 

The size of the stud might have changed however the original principals and bloodlines remain unchanged.
